At first, it might seem that God is just responding to Ananias's accurate accusations against Paul. But perhaps He's really saying that Paul will henceforth live such a godly life that he will be persecuted more than most.jmbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07164857192077648887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21212024.post-20680053646172886892013-03-07T07:12:10.013-08:002013-03-07T07:12:10.013-08:00Paul -- goo thing I taught on the whole passage, t...Paul -- goo thing I taught on the whole passage, then? So now I'm thinking about Operation: No More Tears and God's never stopping, never giving up, unbreaking, always and forever love. And I'm OK with that.

Thanks for threading the eschatology needle. It's the pinnacle of the gospel - the great hope of the redeemed and the great fear of the not - but it's so easy to despise talking about the return of Christ because of how often such discussion devolves into Camping or William Tapley style speculation and ridiculousness. It's so good to talk and think about that day without the nonsense.

Christ is coming back to be glorified in his saints and to inflict vengeance on his enemies. Let's ponder that, and live accordingly.trogdorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11452996348717802065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21212024.post-70733839892199464332013-03-06T09:25:16.558-08:002013-03-06T09:25:16.558-08:00Still luv ya, OneStarHater.Still luv ya, OneStarHater.FX Turkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16798420127955373559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21212024.post-72234406615385945372013-03-06T08:16:12.995-08:002013-03-06T08:16:12.995-08:00Frank,

McSwain was telling us that we must love, but rejecting the Bible as the inerrant, infallible Word of God. He, therefore, had nothing upon which to ground a definition of love. You, however, not only agree that we should love, but that our love should be like God’s love "which is selfless and committed to the welfare of others." A love that is revealed to us by both God's commands and by his actions.

Excellent post. Thank you for the exhortation to hold our hope in all that awaits us who are saved, but to also present the warning of what awaits those who die in their sins.

We have been studying "The Darkness and the Glory" in a small group and it has served as a great reminder of what all Jesus went through in our place and how every person who dies without repentance and trusting in Christ will face the separation from God's glory and grace. That is something that no believer can or will ever truly understand because we will never suffer such a fate. And while it is good that God exercises His justice in pouring out His wrath, we shouldn't wish that on our worst enemy.Roberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13987985549747283669noreply@blogger.com
