Do I get a free hat for being the first commenter?

*Rubs hands with glee on seeing who else is on the team*

Here was me thinking I'd have more time in the day now.....

Looking at the gang here I am confused. I thought the idea was to reduce comment traffic????

:)

You know - this just really makes me angry. I've thought for a long time that you were way off on everything you said and the fact that you're an insufferable [insert insult here, it's too early for me to think one up] just adds to the mix. That's it. I'm through with Pyromaniac. The link to it has been removed from my blog (ihaveablogtoo.blogspot.com) and all three of my readers (well, in a good month - give or take a couple +/-) will not receive the free advertisement I have offered in the past.

Please ignore the above rant. I just wanted to try the methodology out.

Looking forward to seeing and reading from the team you put together, Phil. Thanks for not dumping us unceremoniously. The Pryo experience has become as important to me as my morning cup of java.

Phil, I disagree completely plus you're ugly and your Mama wears rubber pants. So there.
You can run but you can't hide! grin

Okay, now seeing the lineup of bloggers, I'm not as sad as I once was.

This'll be interesting.

And probably generate more comments than any of you expected. LOL

Anonymous said...

I may not always agree with you, but you always make me think.

Not agreeing with somebody, but having them "make me think" was how I became a Calvinist.

(By the way...your (Phil's) question about prophecy...with the antics at my church (possibly soon to be my former church) - I'm thinking that that I'm about to change my stance on that issue also.

;-)

Jeremy Weaver said...

Frank Turk? Doesn't he have enough blogs to contribute to?

Matt Gumm said...

Doxo beat me to the snide comment. My questions was, has he actually posted to any of those group blogs?

Randy said...

This all looks very familar...

Kim said...

I like this line-up. However, this does mean that Mr. Turk can infuriate me in two locations.

Ray said...

Wonderful lineup!

Carla Rolfe said...

This should be fun :o)

Kim from Hiraeth said...

Hey! What happened to Wrigley?

I agree with Carla. Looks like fun!

Neil said...

Doxo,
Frank is here because Phil needed a soft-spoken peacemaker for when things get hot.

Gryphonette said...

The anticipation is mounting as we eagerly await the first post. Who will it be, we wonder? What topic will receive pride of place?

Sensors on high alert....

Daniel said...

I am looking forward to this.

Darel said...

Obligatory "wha?" comment.

marc said...

THe real genius of this is that the Boars' Head Tavern Folk can now have one-stop shopping in its indignation.

Let the games begin!

Carla Rolfe said...

You're all a bad influence on me. It's all your fault I wound up playing with matches this morning. And I used to be so nice...

FX Turk said...

The only reason to blog is the meta -- the comments. Phil only puts up the new logo, and this is the response he gets. What happens when I start blogging the notes I have on my work-in-progress contra Doug Wilson's To a Thousand Generations?

And what happens when the talking monkey makes an appearance?

I can't wait. For those of you who are worried about my ability to churn out text for what seems to be 3 blogs, I e-mailed the guys at Sola blog that because I have never had anythig up to their level of quality to post (and I don't seem to be able to make the time to start that series on the Social Gospel and how it relates to the Emergent church) that they should "let me go". I haven't heard back from them, but hen you see that they have done so, it was so I could have a free conscience to post here instead.

My biggest fear is that this blog will snuff out all traffic back to my blog. And then how will I sell t-shirts?

CuriousSaint said...

Looking forward to many exciting, stimulating topics. Hopefully it will remain on topic and sincere. God bless.

Nice place ya got here, asbestos HTML I assume?

UK67 said...

OK, but you need a warmer look. And I don't mean more fire and firetruck red.

There is a big blank in the blogosphere that needs to be filled by a good Boar's Head Tavern type group blog that understands biblical doctrine and isn't afraid to proclaim it.

You'd need more personalities than you've currently selected though. And...yet another blog with centuriOn? Spare us. If I have to read "prolly" one more time...

But if ol' cent was just one of 30 or so voices then he'd fit right in.

candy said...

uh oh.

Kay said...

More voices? Whaddya think the comment sections for?

Cindy Swanson said...

Hey, as long as my link stays on the sidebar, I'm fine with it. :)

Yippee!

I knew that that last picture was of an outhouse! This whole thing just stinks!

Although I guess it also demonstrates a very important both/and distinction doesn't it?
Here we have a definite example of a complete 'cessesion' from Pyromaniac AND and a 'continuation' in the form of Pyromaniacs.
How do we explain that?
Also does this mean that when Phil says his is a 'closed' blog that there can be no more revelation or are we to look elsewhere?
Just some questions!
Glad there will still be somewhere to look every morning for some uplifting reading!
Glad you're here Phil!

Frank... My biggest fear is that this blog will snuff out all traffic back to my blog. And then how will I sell t-shirts?

Just leave that with me (#inserts subliminal message to only Frank, that he now desires to plug my store, instead of his own#), and you concentrate on this here fine new blog.
:o)

This will be exciting.

the value of those Pyromaniac decals just went up.

Chris Meirose said...

I think this is just a ruse by Phil to ditch out on all the homeschool moms he has offended this past year. He's looking for a clean start, but strangely forgot to assume an alias...

;-)

Big Chris
Because I said so

Jeremy Weaver said...

Nice touch with the water tower, too. Now which of you are Wacko, Yacko, and Dot?

Janet said...

Protesting, yes!

I'll read the new blog if a) Pecadillo writes b) I don't get called a jerk ;-)

FX Turk said...

I prolly should stop that, but since I prolly won't, you'll prolly have to read past one conceit. It's like IMO, FWIW -- you know, internet grammar.

Sorry to spoil your day.

FX Turk said...

I'm not making any promises about who is and is not a jerk. However, because of the guidance Phil has given about content, the word "jerk" prolly doesn't meet the editorial criteria.

Prolly. prolly prolly prolly. Prolly not.

B. Stark said...

Why do "Pyromaniacs" and "Animaniacs" sound so similar? Just an observation...

I appreciate the seamless transition that we are receiving from pyromaniac to Team Pyro. Its always easier to swallow bad news with a little bit of ice cream.

Momo said...

Hey, don't Daniel and Phil need nicknames too? Maybe you guys could come up with something for each of them.

Kay said...

Well Phil is Pyro, surely.

And Daniel has to be 'Wierd-Lemur-Boy' because of that face-morphy thing he used to have as his avatar..

Scott Hill said...

Seeing the list of contributors I don't think this will lesson the controversy at Pyromaniac(s).

FX Turk said...

Phil's nick is obviously "pyroManiac".

It seems obvious to me that Daniel's ought to be "the Body". I'm shocked that Purgatorio hasn't picked up on that yet.

FLAME ON!!!!

One question though....have you noticed how many good blogs have announced that they were closing recently only to reopen shortly thereafter???

What kinda game are we playin here?

I bet Pyro is back in no time once he sees how few comments he used to get before joining team Flamable Fundamentalists here.

An eccletic mix to be sure Phil!

Will this blog be the antithesis for the BHT?

Okay, just a kidding...I certainly don't want to open up that can again. Good luck with the new venture.

Dear Phil:

This sounds like it will be a fun venture. Looking forward to seeing the new dynamic.

Of course, you realize I now need a PYROMANIACS graphic button to go with my link to this blog.

May I suggest posting one in your sidebar with a "link to us" title over it?

UK67 said...

Sorry if I came across as a jerk. I don't like smiley faces either.

FX Turk said...

K7:

Oops. The "jerk" response was to Janet, not you. Sorry 'bout the confusion. I'm prolly the jerk, not you.

Matt Gumm said...

How about j-rk?

The worth of my Pyromaniac sticker just went up!

I am looking forward to many worthwhile reads from such stellar bloggers.

Blestwithsons - that's brilliant.

But seriously, folks: I'm looking forward to the Gothard/Blackaby stuff. I know a lot of critique of those guys is out there, but I'd just as soon come here for it as go searching. I'm lazy, after all. Here I expect the quality to be high and the viewpoints rational and known up front, even when I may disagree (or the PMs disagree with each other).

Phil,

Kudos on choosing Spurgeon as one of the Pyromaniacs. Some have good things to say, and some can actually write,....James...both.
