Can we front-load off topic or irrelavant complaints for the next controversial post here?

LoL... reminds me of this little sketch, 3:20 to 3:45.

*ahem*

I would just like to tell all you of horrific #$@# that you're very uncharitable. And you shouldn't be wasting time commenting on blogs. You should be doing something edifying--like ministry.

Is there something wrong with the Dirty Preachin' post? For some reason I can't view any comments after the first page. They stop at about noon. There's no link to the 2nd page. Also, no option to post a comment.

Carol Jean: try this, but Phil has disabled new comments (explanation near the bottom of the thread).

The iMonk said,
"Will the evangelicalizing of Catholic and Orthodox communions be a good development? One can hope for greater unity and appreciation, but the history of these developments seems to be much more about a renewed vigor to "evangelize" Protestantism in the name of unity."

Um, greater unity and appreciation?

What does light have to do with darkness? Catholicism anathametizes the gospel, and from what I understand the EO church is much the same as well....ie, they're no better than LDS or JWs.

And he seems WAY too blind about the shallow, emotion-driven charismatic/pentecostal churches. Some so-called charismatic churches are actually biblically focused, but I wouldn't call them Charismatic or Pentecostal, but rather just non-cessationist (though that itself is an error, but not much of an error, especially if the get the gospel right).

Someone with more xml expertise than I have will have to help us fix our template. I didn't realize Blogger now displays only 200 comments per page. If you want the rest, you have to click on "comments," then click on the "most recent" link.

I think the newer templates include a "more recent" button on the blogpost itself. I don't know how to add that to an old-style template like ours.

We clearly need to update our template, but I'm going to need 2-3 free days to get around to that. Don't hold your breath.

Meanwhile, I'm sorry Blogger's "improvements" make the blog harder to use.

Yeah, FWIW I searched our template, searched Google, and searched Blogger help groups. Found one thread where someone asked the same question, and was never answered.

Am I the only one who is wondering why Jugulum's post is still up and has not been deleted given a clear reference to a swear word and insult to a mod? not that I am telling u mods what to do it just seems odd to let that stay.

Grigs,

I think Jungulum was playing off my comment about front-loading complaints, which, of course refered to the really long comment thread that occupied most of our time yesterday. His "ahem" kind of gives it away :-)

The Squirrel

I'm not a moderator on this blog, nor do I play one on TV. I have watched TV, however.

Hmm... Yes, it would have been better had I quoted Squirrel's question before my "ahem". (Another giveaway was "like ministry".)

But upon reflection... I'm thinking my joke pushed the line into "unwise". When or how is sarcasm & irony OK? Hmm...

What on earth? I thought I posted my comment (see above) in the "down the drain" meta, and I'm actually darn certain I did!

How'd it end up here?

So who's won the book already?

I think he's banking on us all humbly assuming someone else was more deserving of the magic email.

I still think that he forgot again!

I think we're supposed to name it and claim it. ;-)
