Ouch; a negative review of God's Wisdom in Proverbs
by Dan Phillips
While y'all are waiting for a later post (percolating in my brainium even as we speak), here's something to chew over.
Life has kept our frequent commenter Rachael Starke from blogging for awhile, but she's back. Boy, is she.
Rachael just posted a completely negative review of God's Wisdom in Proverbs. You might check it out. Later, God willing, if I can recover enough strength to face the world again, I'll bump myself with another post.

I'm still reading it Dan (some parts several times, which is why it is taking me so long to finish), and think she is right on. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
I just read Rachel's review, and now I think I'll have to read the book just as soon as I'm done the TWTG. Seeing as I'm in that time of life called "small children" - it may be awhile :-)
Ouch! With friends like that...
(o:
With two wayward children I figured I'd stay away from Dan's book, being the failure of a parent that I am. However, after reading Rachel's review...
Dan I placed my thoughts on Rachel's review and wanted to say them here. - I am reading (studying) both books at the same time – the first book for the second time. I have not read books that have helped me to get intimate with the “truth” and grow closer to God in a long time – not to mention the Bible. Would recommend both. World tilting is Bible 101 on steroids. Proverbs will make you think – which is something lacking today. Thanks for your review. God will use these books for “HIS” glory.
God's Wisdom in Proverbs is NOT going to sit on your shelf and collect dust.
It's one of those books that you'll need to buy more than one copy eventually b/c of the much use you'll get from it, and the wear and tear it'll get like a favorite bible that gets used alot.
(calfskin edition GWIP?) :-D
Cute.
Tricksy. I had NOT excepted that.
Dan, I ask this question merely because it flew through my head while reading this post: Have you ever considered doing a full translation of Proverbs with your thoughts interspersed where you disagree/bang your head against the wall with modern translations?
I wish I wrote half as well as you AND Rachael. That's a great "negative" review.
I'm NOT happy that I've NOT had the time to read it yet.
Julie
