A Timely Prayer Request When we took our October hiatus last year, one of the sites we linked to (to give our regulars something edifying to read while we were gone) was the journal of Grace Mark, a young wife and mom who was describing the ordeal of her husband's struggle with cancer. Andrew Mark was taken to Emergency this morning, for what seems to be his final battle. Grace's journal describes how this has been an incredibly difficult and heart-rending trial, which they have faced together with faith, courage, and confidence. Please pray for this couple, that God's grace will sustain them to the end. Pray especially for divine strength and comfort for Grace and the children. Grace's own prayer request: "that our suffering would result in us knowing Christ more intimately (Phil. 3)." |

I dare anyone to read that journal and not bawl your eyes out. Their faith is inspirational.

So true! So encouraging is this brother's faith in the Lord Jesus that his video clips--particularly the one just before he went in for surgery--are very humbling indeed to those of us, like myself, who need to repent so much more for all of misplaced focus and/or concerns with the temporal of this life--such as my job, etc. Praying for this dear family!
Will pray too.
Thanks for this referral. Praying for this dear family
I removed my comment above because I had spent some time in Grace's blog this morning, and about 5 minutes ago there was an entry posted by Grace's friend for today saying that Andrew has passed away at around 11:30 this morning. HOWEVER,when I reloaded that page just now, the entry was gone. I tried reloading it several times but that entry is nowhere to be found. I don't know what this means, but we will just keep praying....
Unfortunately, a miracle didn't happen. The entry by Grace's friend is back up.
I attend church with this family, and can't highly enough recommend the message that our pastor (Andrew's brother-in-law, btw) delivered this morning, titled "Reflections on the Suffering and Death of a 27 year old Man". www.solidfoodmedia.com
Our hearts are aching for the loss of this man who lived and died the gospel in a way that I can't even begin to express. Please continue praying for Grace, AJ and Gracie.
