Camping's way out

by Dan Phillips

Reader Joe Cassada took an idea I proposed, brought his willingness and abundant talent, we collaborated some more, and the result is above. Meant to be read along with the previous posts.

When I saw the title, my first thought was that he had resigned in disgrace.

Yeah, right......

There's probably a better chance of another global flood.......

I vacillate on the title. Originally, "Camping out."

Yes..wel I was so busy on the 21st, I actually forgot about it being the end of the world. But I d do think Mr Camping bought the name oe Christ into disrepute and for that he at least needs to apologize to the church.

Nicely done, Joe.

Someone has suggested that perhaps just Camping was raptured. He is the only one that no one can find today.

We were talking about what his next move would be. Someone said maybe he can come out of hiding and say he alone was raptured and Jesus sent him back to get others...

This guy makes me sad and angry at the same time. But at least it opens up opportunities of discussion for matters of life and death and judgement

The little church that stood our front of FR's HQ on Saturday was ours.

The guy wearing motorcycle gear while holding a sign was me.

We were there to offer counsel and support to those "left-behind".

Lots of news trucks showed up given what in a certain sense is something really silly. Our pastor gave several interviews during the event.

Some atheists showed up too, some of you guys may know about their rapture parties and so on. They were friendly enough at first.

The strangest part of the evening was when a Christian picked a fight with one of the atheists. He threw the first punch and started using epithets that no obedient Christian would use. I was not there for that part but the story was related to me by people who were.

They ended up rolling around on the ground and there was blood everywhere. One of our guys helped pull them apart and got lots of blood on himself.

The two guys took off right after the fight and while our guy was cleaning himself off, it became apparent that it wasn't real blood.

Our conclusion is that both were atheists and the whole thing was staged.

Makes me ashamed to live in America when stuff like that goes on.

I did like the atheist's sticker on his truck, "first church of the last laugh". Gotta give them credit for the ability to turn a phrase.

I couldn't help thinkin of psalm 2, and that it is God who will have the last laugh.

We were listening to FR on and off the whole day, and it was just music, no programming of any kind that we heard.

This report from South Africa is confusing. http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/Tearful-SA-rapture-man-seeks-forgiveness-20110525

He is tearful and repentant about misleading people but also is certain about Oct?
