DJP book announcement: title and date, woo-hoo

by Dan Phillips

I promised -- someone, somewhere -- that I'd share, when I knew. Now I know.

My book from Kregel has an official title and publication date. Now we start work on a cover and such.

Official title: The World-Tilting Gospel: Embracing a Biblical Worldview and Hanging on Tight

Official release date: August 1, 2011

That leaves my Proverbs book in the works with Kress Biblical Resources, but I don't have a publication date. When I know, I'll share.

Congratulations, Dan.! Great title!

Will we be able to order signed copies?

Press a pen to the title page and have your kids shake the table hard; that'd be pretty close to my signature.

Congrats, Dan. A nice thing to have a book brought into the world. And from the title it sounds like I'll agree with at least 90% of it!

Seriously, worldview education is crucial these days. May it school many.

Me too.

Great title! Can't wait to read it!

Congratulations!

Do you have the obligatory back cover blurb from you-know-who yet?

DJP said...

Benny Hinn?

No.

Stefan Ewing said...

Ah, too bad, though I was thinking of a good brother of a more English persuasion.

That being said, if you could get, say, Benny Hinn and John MacArthur to both endorse your book, that'd be a feat for the ages!

Chris Anderson said...

Dude. Congratulations. Couldn't be happier for you. Prov 13:12.

DJP said...

Thanks, Chris!

(Chris has, to say the least, actually read the book.)

Woo-hoo indeed! Congrats!

Congrats.
The title is a mouthful, can’t wait for the contents.

The title's a mouthful? Only by modern standards - Dan has a long way to go to match JE's 'A careful and strict enquiry into the modern prevailing notions of that freedom of the will which is supposed to be essential to moral agency, virtue and vice, reward and punishment, praise and blame.'

Face it - today's publishers are title wimps!

Love the title and am eagerly waiting. I am genuinely encouraged and ministered to by your writing.

Congratulations! I'm looking forward to reading this one.

You know, it is not a true Christian publication until Ed Stetzer or Rick Warren endorse it on the back cover.

DJP said...

Maybe I did it wrong.

The title is The World-Tilting Gospel.

The rest is subtitle.

Will it be available on Amazon? Is it available for Pre-order? I hope these aren't dumb questions...I wondered if pre-ordering helps the author get more published?

DJP said...

Hunh, I dunno; I'll ask.

I'm a total n00b on this.

I like the title.

Rob said...

Will it someday be available at my local Lifeway store, and will it be before or behind the massive wall of Beth Moore books?

DJP said...

Between Beth Moore and the Blackabys.

Congrats! DJP.

How do you do it? (Phil. 4:13)

Susan said...

Wait...how can your book be between Blackaby and Moore when your last name is Phillips?? :P

Congrats!!! I await my signed copy!!! :D

word verification: bring :)

It's not gonna be one of those little pocket sized books like the Prayer of Jabez is it?

Ron (aka RealityCheck) said...

Congrats Dan... I can't wait to read it!

GrammaMack said...

I think that if you order it from Amazon, the author ends up with a mere pittance compared to other sources. At least that's the way it used to be. Not that Dan's doing it for the money, but we might want to keep it in mind when we buy it.

I can not wait to read it Dan..
