iMonk is not a Christian

by Frank Turk

I just thought I'd lead up to the blog holiday with the most inflammatory headline I could think of without using words which have already been discussed and voted on by committee and assigned disrepute. I don't think iMonk is not a Christian. I think he's post-baptist, and that has made many a strong man into something else. The LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you, iMonk.

No offense, iMonk. Let's see if Dan will up the ante.

BTW, I have been trying to find a post in which to use that graphic for about 2 months. This seemed like the best time to air it out. And to Phil, I resent being called the "funny one" and Dan being called the "better writer" -- we all know what you meant in that last post, bub. If people could see us in person, I promise you that Dan would be the funny one. Of course, he'd still be the better writer, so I better take what I can get.

No no no no.

If you really wanted to do this right, you'd then have to CLOSE COMMENTS, and say you haven't really closed comments, because people can talk to their dollies or invisible friends, or email you or something.

Or The Dan Show (with Frank)?

It's the Dan "expanding bandwidth until you can't get a word in edgewise, complete with footnotes and the Greek interlinear, subject to revision and addenda" Phillips show (starring Frank Turk).

It's like the Dick Van Dyke show -- Morry Amsterdam got all the real laughs.

It's comments like that, btw, which make the eyebrow thing really pay off.

There should be a warning about drinking coffee and reading the title at the same time.

Mark Driscoll updates his MySpace blog with an iPhone—Tom Cruise, the new Scientological Jesus, comments on the Emergent Heresy. Leaky cannons get a word from the Lord "Dan talks to his dollies..."

That ought to keep you busy.

Cool axe graphic btw, heck if it was girl that'd generate all kinds of traffic.

It is a cool graphic - except that he looks a bit like the hunchback of ND with those two large tumors on the right side of his back. And then there's the sword sticking into his hip . . .

Do you guys mind if I ask the following, or is this info *top secret*?

Where or how do you guys get/make such awesome graphics? The eye candy on this site always blows me away.

Just curious,

Frank and Dan, Martin and Lewis?

Frank and Dan, Abbott and Costello?

Frank and Dan, Dumb and Dumber?

Kim just got de-linked at my blog.

Aspiring:

99% of my graphics are scanned in from my 1000+comic collection, and the other 1% are my feeble attempts to emulate those pictures using Illustrator, Photoshop, and a damaged brain. A good example of a homejob image is this.

All teamPyro graphics are the product of Phil's ability to use a second-class image editor like a surgeon's scalpel. He's actually a genius with that thing, and I never get over how well he can lift images out of their original context and paste them over the TeamPyro logo without any obvious seams.

Dude, you never read comics as a kid, did you? I can tell because your idea of art is hyper-realism, rather than, for example, graphic storytelling and narrative.

Hassan here (and before anyone says "racist", that's what his name was in that comic) is drawn in a humanly-impossible pose to convey energy, stremgth, rage and wrath.

And the sword, if you look closely, is in a leather loop, not sticking into his side.

Your plan worked.

But beware, it's one thing to bait a centuri0n, but it's quite another to bait a karate guy. I fear I will be unable to protect you.

You realize that your comment provides such a wonderful selection of possible retorts from me, don't you? Especially that last phrase.

But I won't....cause I love you.

I would never go on Fox. Only PBS.

You don't choose the media.

The media choose you.

The media chooses me....hmmm....sort of like broadcasting election....

If that's the case, I'm a broadcast arminian.

Yes, that is a terribly cheesy comment, and yes I'm only trying to best DJP...a total impossibility.

I'll go back to being a meek homeschool mom now.
