For British readers: Ashford Bible Conference on Christ in the OT

by Dan Phillips

While we await one of my betters' posts:

I'd mentioned this in passing some time back, and a couple of our British readers wanted more details. Now they're available!

This is a conference to be held September 17, 2011, in Ashford, England. This is their third annual conference. Featured speakers will be Tom Drion, Anthony Forsyth, and some blogger. As the site explains:
This year's theme is "Christ in the Old Testament". The great Composer of the Old Testament crafted a symphony that created longings, hopes, and expectations which could only be met in the person and work of Jesus the Messiah. Our conference speakers will open up aspects of His masterpiece.
Further details here.

Would love to see you.

Wretched: This Is Where I am Right Now
a brief addendum and update by Phil Johnson

oday I'm in the Twin Cities area for the second of this year's Psalm 119 Conferences, sponsored by Wretched Radio with Todd Friel. Speakers at this weekend's conference include James White, Milton Vincent, and R. W. Glenn.

James White and Todd Friel have both been friends of mine for a long time, and they are opposite personalities with totally different temperaments. I'm eager to see them get together. Should be great fun.

Next week Darlene and I will be in Chicago at The Gospel Coalition. Nevertheless, I plan to do a proper blogpost on Monday. If you're going to be at either conference, look us up.

See also my comment under this post. If you have the time and the means to go to that conference in Ashford, you won't regret it.

I'm not in the UK, but I'd need more details about this blogger guy before going. I mean, how is his tone? Those blogger guys tend to have tone issues...especially those fundamentalist types...

It would be appropriate to prayer that there will be no international incident.

I know I am.

Sweet. Ashford happens to be headquarters for the D. Martyn LLoyd-Jones Recordings Trust and Grace to You Europe. I've logged a little time there myself. Lovely place, and it's close by the cliffs of Dover. The terminal for the Chunnel train to Paris is in Ashford; so if you have time and some discretionary funds, you can take a day trip into France.

You're going to love it. I'd propose organizing a group tour for TeamPyro readers, but I can't go myself that time of year, so I'm out. But if someone wants to get a group going, I know someone who can give y'all a great Spurgeon tour.

What a blessing.
Going across the Pond to study the Word and grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ!
That must give you some goose-bumps.

Have a terrific weekend and Lord's day!

Might have to take a trip to the county I grew up in and which remains dear to my heart. That blogger fellow is someone I'd like to meet.

Phil, any chance you'll pop by the SGA office in Loves Park while in the Chicago area? It would be great to see you.

Sounds like a great conference. Hopefully I can attend one in the future. Will there be downloads available out on the web or for purchase at a later date? Right now, I have two conferences that I am thinking about attending already: Psalm 119 Conf. Sep.9-10 in Ohio and "Truth Matters" GTY Bible Conf. Sep. 1-4.

@Michael - the video and audio of the Ashford Bible Conference messages will be available shortly afterwards. And it is, of course, all free - it's called ministry after all...
If you want an actual DVD or CD it will be a little longer but will only be charged at cost (£2 plus post for DVD; 50p or less for CD).

Dan will also be preaching at our church the following day (twice, I think) and that will also be available online for free in audio and video. If I can get the camera to travel with him elsewhere we might even get another message or two if we are blessed...

@Pastor Pants...Brilliant!!! Thanks for the information and I will be sure to check it out. The conference sounds amazing and the UK is stellar. [Side Note: I attempted to train for a marathon but I was only able to run 1/2].

I think Todd Friel is a Calminian?
