I'm more stoked about this than all the combined feedback I've received in two years' worth of blogging:

Gosh, I thought you said you liked my comments.

"Criminal Skills: This category contains sites that either provide instructions for or identify methods to promote,
encourage, or provide the skills to commit illegal, criminal activities. These include bomb-making,
phreaking (breaching phone security or phone service theft), consumer scams and fraud,
terrorism, evading law enforcement, stalking, lock picking, passing urine tests and selling pirated
material, commercial software, music, videos, software, or fake IDs."

Yikes...

They probably think you are arsonists, ... no Irish humor intended.

"Criminal Skills"

That must refer to all the posts and comments involving wielding frozen meat chubs. :-)

There is nothing more dangerous than a criminal with skills.

So... that means we're the kind of people my mother warned me not to hang out with?

Plus, that means John Piper isn't the only one who's bad.

I am ashamed I had to bump this post. I've never been more proud of anything in my whole life.

I think it's the title of our blog which triggered their filter. Because there's only one way to read words, "pyromaniacs" is a bad thing.

Dash that 'Law of First Use'!!!

Note for those who don't know what I'm talking about: The 'Law of First use' is a faulty Brethren exegetical tool which says that a word always means what it mant the first time it was used in Scripture. I hope n-one here needs to be told what STARTLING CONSEQUENCES would result from its being consistently applied.

Hmmmm..... my pastor went to DTS.

I wonder if I would require church discipline if he knew I read here.

Wow! We were at DTS in the late 80's/early 90's--haven't received anything in the alumni newsletters alerting us to this sort of censorship!! Hmmmmmmmmmm... :-)

Know what's REALLY scary? All chuckling aside (and boy, did I chuckle!), this is illustrative of how an innocuous post on the Internet can get you flagged by the Department of Homeland Security. Suppose I did a blog with "C-4" in the title, meaning only an explosion in evangelism. Purely tongue-in-cheek.

Joel the Solameanie's "tongue-in-cheek" might well get his "can-in-Gitmo."

Some might applaud that idea.

Anyway, don't change the name of this blog. It's fine the way it is. Besides, too much is changing in our society, and changing far too quickly. I'd like to see at least temporary permanence.

FWIW, I spoke with the IT guys at DTS (great guys BTW), and they have connected our vendor to reclassify Pryomaniacs. Although I have not verified with them, I assume the "Criminal Skills" is in reference to the name "Pyromaniacs," not the content.

IOW, there is no insidious DTS scheme to censor our beloved Pryos.

Blogger Phil Johnson:

Turns out DTS is not alone in censoring us.

So THAT's why our blog-traffic is dropping!

Great news - Pyromaniacs is now functional on the DTS campus!
