Seriously, Now...

• Marc Heinrich confers an extra fifteen minutes of fame on our Dan Phillips with a rollicking YSTC contest. My faves: a tie between Taliesin's "Hello. My name is Dan Phillips. You bumped my Pyro post. Prepare to die" and Daniel's (of "Duologos") "I need to apply this directly to your forehead."
  
• Bobby Blakey points out that Christ's lordship is the essential heart of the gospel message.
  
• Anne from Hawaii warns you that Dan will challenge you.
  
• Kenny Clark at "Brain Cud" inflicted Pecadillo's cheesy costume collection on his readers.
  
• H. K. Flynn trots out a stunning new blogdesign and throws down. Very nice. Unfortunately, the theology at this blog was more in need of an overhaul than the blog template, and judging from the new subtitle ("A pro-Zane Hodges blog for Free Grace Theology advocacy"), that's not happening.
  
• When Ingrid Schlueter takes a day off, she sends her readers here. Please be on your best behavior.
  
• Eddie Beal is representative of several bloggers who posted thoughts and clarifications about John Piper, "hedonism," and the proper Christian motivation for obedience after Dan Phillips raised the issue and it took off in the comments thread here. (See the long list o' links to that post for more on the subject.)
  
• Bob Hayton, for example, says he likes Piper's views on Christian joy better than Dan's. Bob also has
  some good thoughts on the Lordship debate. (Although for the record, I should make it clear that the lordship debate confused me somewhat when I first encountered it, but I was never really "on the other side of that debate." Sorry if I left a different impression. I hope to finish my testimony and clarify all of that in a post on Monday or Tuesday.)
  
• The esteemed Dr. Adrian Warnock says "amen to Dan's post almost in its entirety."
  
• Robin at "Fruit on the Vine" likewise appreciated Dan's post.
  
• Deathrow Bodine says I stole his thunder. I think he has plenty of thunder left.
  
• Whoever is posting at "Tin Shed Talk" needs a profile and some kind of info. They have made this post twice, however, so we're giving them a BlogSpot.
  
• Let's just say Bob Bixby isn't very happy with us. The humor, comments, and graphics here (especially "the ubiquitous Pyromaniacs label") are not his mug of tea. He absolutely hates Frank Turk's PyroGear ("puhleeze!") and Dan's graphic signature ("good grief!"). He compares us to "the bowling team from the local pub," likens our comments to a "gladiatorial flogging," and associates our blogging style with "chest-beating and snorting." He cannot find a way to reconcile our "joviality and boyishness" with "serious doctrine"; and he finds it next to impossible to "parse between the slapstick and the serious." As far as Bob is concerned, fun and fundamentalism are "as difficult to assimilate as the Macarena dance at a car wreck."
       Aside from all of that, however, Bob says he is a fan of PyroManiacs.
       Oh. And he wouldn't mind a t-shirt, either.
